Detroit rapper 42 Dugg appeared on The Breakfast Club this week to address his new song with Future, “Maybach”.
The song was released on 42 Dugg’s new album Free Dem Boyz, which dropped last Friday. Social media was abuzz regarding the song, particularly due to a line from Future dissing his ex Lori Harvey.
“Tell Steve Harvey, I don’t want her” said Future on the track, referencing Lori’s famous father. Dugg told The Breakfast Club he knew that line was going to catch people’s attention.
“I told his ass ‘You needa say that shit three more times.’” Dugg said during the interview. “I was loving it. … Future knew too though. He knew what was going on.”
Online, people had mixed reactions. Some were ecstatic to see Future back to his old ways, while others saw the diss as petty. Lori Harvey and Future split back in August of 2020 and since then Lori has begun dating actor Michael B. Jordan. Lots of fans noted since Lori has moved on, Future should go ahead and do the same.
Tasteful or not, the line has helped to promote the new track. Watch the music video for ‘Maybach’ now!
