Stephen Curry’s life story is about to receive the Hollywood treatment.
The Warriors’ guard’s rise to stardom will be the focus of the new A24 film “Underrated”. The production company has been responsible for some of the most popular blockbusters in recent memory including “Uncut Gems” and the 2017 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, Moonlight. “Underrated” will be A24’s first documentary-style film.
Ryan Coogler, director of the hit movie “Black Panther”, is set to produce the Curry documentary. Coogler was a producer for “Creed II”, “Space Jam: A New Legacy”, and an episode of ESPN’s “30 for 30”.
The film is expected to follow Curry’s journey from a largely overlooked player on a small private college team to one of the best guards in the history of basketball.
A release date for “Underrated” has yet to be announced. Stay tuned to Athletes Creative Trap for future updates.
