New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is spreading his influence off the football field and onto the racetrack. The star athlete’s juice bar chain The Big Squeezy just became the primary sponsor for NASCAR’s Number 6 Chevrolet car.
The car, to be driven by Ryan Vargas, will participate in Saturday’s Xfinity Series race. It will be Kamara’s first involvement in professional racing.
Reportedly a fairly new racing fan, Kamara is savvy in marketing via social media. The partnership between his company and NASCAR will only further his efforts in diversifying his commitments outside of professional football.
It is unclear whether the partnership will continue past Saturday’s race, but for now Kamara is the lead sponsor of a NASCAR team.
He isn’t the only athlete to get involved in racing lately. Michael Jordan recently got involved with NASCAR as well. Read our story on that here.
