Bobby Shmurda, the New York rapper incarcerated seven years for conspiracy and weapons possession charges, was released from prison earlier today. One of the hottest rappers of 2014, Shmurda’s fanbase has remained extremely loyal throughout his time behind bars.
Upon his release from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility, the rapper facetimed his mother. He was then joined by fellow rapper Quavo, who arranged for a private jet for Shmurda and his crew.
Shmurda has garnered more notoriety recently as other popular rappers come under fire for snitching. Brooklyn’s 6ix9ine rose to the top of rap through trolling and gang affiliation only to cooperate with police against the entire Nine Trey Bloods. Shmurda however, stayed quiet when being tried on chargers and even served extra time so that his friend would serve less. With all the talk of snitching going around hip hop recently, Shmurda has stood out as a primary example of a rapper that sticks to the code.
With Bobby Shmurdas’s release, we should expect new music from the artist soon. With so much time away from the spotlight, it’s destined Bobby has some big moves to make in the next chapter of his career.
