“It sucks. No words,” Mayfield said on Zoom with USA Today. “To go into halftime and see him, and I told him I love him, and he said, ‘Go be great.’ That was what he left me with to open up the second half. That was something I continued to remember throughout the second half.”
This is the second major knee injury this season for a high-profile Browns player. Running back Nick Chubb suffered a right medial collateral ligament injury on Oct. 4th during their 49-38 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He remains on leave but expected to return before the end of this season.
Odell Beckham Jr.is expected to miss the rest of the season, rounding up to 36 games for the first time during the seven seasons of his career.
