Brooklyn Artist Transforms Jumpman Logo Into AJ1 Silhouette

by | Aug 6, 2020 | Collectibles

You may recognize Brooklyn based artist Michael Murphy’s portrait of then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2007. Since then, Murphy has collaborated with the Jordan brand and Nike to develop centerpieces of art for their retail shops. Now the leading-edge artist has developed his first ever limited edition in honor of the Jordan brand.

On August 7th, Murphy will reveal his latest work of art–transforming the Jumpman logo into the Air Jordan 1 silhouette. The sculpture stands 10 inches tall and will be released in an edition of 50 pieces. Each edition comes with its own custom sneaker box, a kickstand, and certificate of authenticity verifying its edition number.

The AJ1 sculpture will be released on August 7th at noon ET. Presale is available on August 6th at noon via Murphy’s Perpetual Art store website.
