Damian Lillard released his new single “The Juice” along with a visual for the track. It’s the first single Lillard has released since 2020 (aside from a sponsored track titled “Hulu Has Live Sports”).
Going by his rap moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A, the track references the popular 1992 movie Juice starring Tupac Shakur and Queen Latifah. On the song, Lillard likens himself to the film’s character Q in contrast with characters Bishop and Raheem rapping, “Y’all the type to turn Pac and do Raheem for the juice. Imma be more than Q, built for it but ain’t got the anger built towards it.”
The single also features the talents of Bay Area singer and songwriter Jane Handcock who stems from Lillard’s hometown of Oakland. According to her Spotify biography, Handcock has previously worked with some of the biggest artists in hip hop including Dr. Dre and Rick Ross.
“The Juice” is the first single from Lillard’s upcoming album “Different On Levels The Lord Allowed” which releases August 20th. Stay tuned to Athletes Creative Trap for all future updates on Dame D.O.L.L.A and their music.
