Panini America Praises Grizzlies’ Ja Morant With His Own Colorful Mural In Downtown Memphis

Mural artist Jamond Bullock, also known as Alive Paint, created a massive 30-foot mural celebrating the Memphis Grizzlies’ 2019-20 NBA Rookie of the Year Ja Morant on the side of Slim + Husky’s in Downtown Memphis. Panini America, the multi-national publisher of trading cards, stickers, comics, and children’s magazines, as well as the trading card partner of the NBA and NBPA, commissioned the piece with a major announcement of their decision to extend its partnership with Morant.

The colorful artwork is inspired by Panini America’s popular “Color Blast” line of trading cards adding the 21-year-old to the increasing number of NBA stars who have murals painted in their honor, including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Ben Simmons, and Russell Westbrook. Morant has already checked out the mural, giving props to the artist and the city for all the love he’s received throughout his basketball career. Make sure to check out the mural if you’re in the Downtown Memphis area!

“During a spectacular rookie season, Ja quickly established himself as a bona fide star and captured the imagination of NBA fans and collectors across the globe,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. “We were honored to partner with him last year but we’re even more excited about what lies ahead – not just for Ja on the court but also for our relationship.  Ja represents an exciting and bright future for the NBA.”

Not only has he been honored with this vibrant new mural, Ja Morant also has a giraffe named after him at the Memphis Zoo. Ja-Raffe was born on November 10 and was named after the athlete after winning Rookie of the Year last season. How cool is that?
