Drake Announces “Certified Lover Boy” Album Drop In January 2021

It looks like we’re finally getting a new album from Drake this 2021!

The Dark Lane Demo Tapes rapper announced the release of his sixth full-length studio album Certified Lover Boy will be this upcoming January 2021. He shared a teaser on social media announcing the unexpected news to celebrate his 34th birthday this past Saturday, October 24.

In the teaser, we see a young boy (most likely a young Drake) looking up into the sky as a light shines down on him and pieces of memorabilia fall down towards him. The following scenes reenact Drake dressed as the album covers in Nothing Was The Same, Take Care, and Dark Lane Demo Tapes. The final scene hovers over a stadium with the number “6” and surrounding roses splattered across the top of the building six times.

He also shows off a heart shaved into his hairline, most likely referencing the album’s title Certified Lover Boy. We can only imagine who this lucky “6” album will feature! This past April, he released Dark Lane Demo Tapes with guest appearances from Chris Brown, Giveon, Young Thug and Playboi Carti. Drake later became the first male artist to have three songs at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, according to Billboard.

The Toronto-born rapper previously released “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk, which will also feature on the album. This year we’ve also been blessed with two songs by DJ Khaled and Popcaan, a freestyle with Headie One, and guest appearance on Young Bleu’s “You’re Mines Still.”

The minute long video is hyping fans up all over the world. “Champagne Papi,” it’s been a long time coming, we’re ready for a new album!
