JR Smith Injured After Stepping On Beehive In College Golf Debut

Former NBA guard J.R. Smith made his college golfing debut this Monday. Smith, a member of the North Carolina A&T golf team, is competing in the Elon Phoenix Invitational in Burlington, NC.

The tournament’s first round took place on Monday, with JR Smith shooting 12-over par. Smith’s golf game improved in the second round of the tournament on Tuesday, with the former NBA player recording a score of 7-over par.

While Smith’s golf performance may not have been stellar, his luck was even worse. As Smith played the 12th hole during the tournament on Tuesday, he stepped on a beehive. The incident required Smith to receive medical attention mid-tournament. Nonetheless, after being attended to for his injuries, Smith finished the round.

After two days of golf, Smith currently sits in 81st place in the tournament’s standings.
