LeBron James is telling the world what inspired him to produce and star in the upcoming film “Space Jam: A New Legacy”.
In a teaser trailer released recently by Warner Bros. UK & Ireland on YouTube, LeBron discusses the role the original movie had played in his own childhood and how he hopes “Space Jam: A New Legacy” can inspire the next generation.
“Me being able to reintroduce it to kids today and show them how unbelievable Looney Tunes are, and how great our sport of basketball is – I feel like it was a match made in heaven,” said James in the teaser.
The new film comes nearly 25 years after the release of the 1996 classic “Space Jam” starring Michael Jordan. The original had been a childhood favorite of LeBron James.
“It’s an honor for me to be a part of the Space Jam world,” he said in the teaser. “When I was twelve years old, I was watching Space Jam and always having a love for Bugs Bunny.”
More than just a fun family film, LeBron says he was able to implement lots of things from his everyday life into the movie. So in a sense, fans are getting a sneak peak into LeBron’s life… with a huge dose of Looney Tunes.
