Previously marked as a very limited product in the McDonald’s franchise with availability in select locations, the McRib is making a comeback this December 2nd at all of its 14,400 restaurants for the first time in nearly a decade.
The fan-favorite item is a ”saucy, tangy, tender and shamelessly delicious” piece of the McDonald’s menu that fans anxiously wait for to make its way back to them throughout the year.
The popular fast food chain shared the news on Twitter with the caption “good morning to everyone who asked how i was doing last week and to everyone else… McRib is back 12.2.” Also worth mentioning: “nationwide for the first time since 2012 if u can believe it.
Since the reduction of many menus across the country due to COVID, McDonald’s has still found some success with celebrity themed meals by Travis Scott and J. Balvin. The McRib is another great way for food lovers everywhere to end the year.
The McRib has been a beloved menu item at McDonald’s since its inception nearly 40 years ago,” said Vice President of Menu Innovation, Linda VanGosen in a press release. “There’s nothing quite like the taste of the McRib. To our customers, it’s become more than a delicious, saucy moment… it’s a season, and it’s taking the internet by storm. That’s why this year, we’re proud to serve the McRib nationwide for everyone to enjoy.”
Making its debut back in 1982, this is definitely something worth celebrating! Check out how fans have reacted to this exciting news:
