Megan Thee Stallion announces some really Good News in anticipation of the drop of her debut studio album, set to release on November 20. The Houston rapper has previously left fans wanting more with the releases of three EPs, three mixtapes and high-profile collaborations with Cardi B on “WAP” and Beyoncé on the remix of “Savage.”
The reveal includes a series of Instagram posts displaying her confident body on the cover of a faux magazine including a photo of herself topless featuring the album’s title. The teaser headlines “The Hottest Album of the Year! Who Will Be Featured?” and “Depend on Yourself: How to Remain Solid and Positive!” lead the way for her cover spot on GQ magazine.
She also shared the reveal of the winners of her scholarship partnership with Amazon Music’s Rap Rotation, The Don’t Stop scholarship, will be announced on November 17th. Two female students of color pursuing an Associates, Bachelors or Postgraduate degree in any field will be awarded $10,000.
2020 has been a year where Megan Thee Stallion has had to put her foot down on what’s important in her career. This includes an aggressive altercation with Tory Lanez, standing up for the Black Lives Matter movement, and making moves to better the lives of other women in the world. She’s been making sure her voice and many other Black women’s voices are heard when it comes to their rights.
“Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own,” Megan shared after revealing the Tory Lanez assault. “It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.”
With the kind of year she has had, it’s time to get some Good News out into the world. The Good News debut will also feature a collection of merch on her online store – check it out here!
