It’s only been a few days since Michael B. Jordan’s Amazon Alexa commercial debuted during Super Bowl LV and it’s looking like the relationship between the actor and the tech-giant is going to be much bigger than a single advertisement.
In an interview with Deadline, the actor announced his production company Outlier Society has partnered with Amazon Studios to produce a limited series on Muhammad Ali. Set to be made with the involvement of the late boxer’s estate, Jordan told the magazine they’ll be able to tell the story of Muhammad Ali’s life “with no red tape.”
Details on the upcoming limited series are still sparse, but for now Jordan says the title will be The Greatest. The series will be executive produced by Jay Z’s Roc Nation. While many may expect Michael B. Jordan to play Muhammad Ali due to his boxing role in the movie franchise Creed, it’s been reported he will not play the lead role for that exact reason.
The news comes as Jordan’s latest film Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse was just given an April 30 release date. Another Amazon Studios production, the partnership between the two is showing no signs of slowing down. The movie is set to release directly to Amazon Prime.
