NBA players have concerns with promoting the coronavirus vaccines

The NBA’s push to support a nationwide campaign for COVID19 vaccinations has hit a snag amidst pushback from players. As the league requests participation from some of basketball’s biggest stars for a series of public service announcements encouraging vaccination, some players are skeptical to lend their assistance citing uncertainty regarding the vaccine themselves.

As reported by ESPN, some agents of the league’s top players have allegedly said their clients are uncomfortable promoting a vaccine which they themselves are reluctant to take. The campaign seeks to have player’s promoting the drug’s safety and effectiveness.

It is also possible some players may be hesitant to assist the league following the NBA’s decision to host the NBA All-Star Game ahead of schedule. The move frustrated many around the league.
