The highly anticipated Mike Tyson series starring Jamie Foxx just added another Hollywood heavyweight to their corner. Filmmaker Martin Scorsese has been confirmed as an executive producer on the project according to Variety.
The series will be titled “Tyson” and is set to be directed by Olympus Has Fallen director Antoine Fuqua. With the blockbuster director joining forces with Scorsese, binge-watchers can expect a riveting tale of Tyson’s personal and professional career.
Differing from the controversial Mike Tyson biopic soon to release on Hulu, this series was made with the famed boxer’s stamp of approval.
“I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains,” Tyson told Variety.
The series has yet to be picked up by a streaming service but with so many box office stars now signed on to the project, it’s a safe bet “Tyson” will be scooped by Netflix, Disney, or another company sometime soon.
