Notorious B.I.G.’s “King of New York’ Crown Sells for $600,000 at Auction

In 1997, American photographer Barron Claiborne shot the infamous “King of New York” portrait of rapper Notorious B.I.G. 

The plastic crown prop that B.I.G wore in the portrait recently sold for $600,000. 

Both Biggie and Claiborne’s signatures are inscribed into the crown along with the date of the original shoot.
