Oreo’s Newest Partner: The NBA

Basketball fans have an exciting release to look forward to later this month and it’s not the newest pair of sneakers or the launch of a video game. Rather than heading to their local Foot Locker or Gamestop, fans wanting to get their hands on the latest NBA merchandise will find themselves at the supermarket as Oreo cookies has announced their limited edition “NBA Dynasty Oreo” cookies.

Six team logos will be featured on the new cookies, highlighting “the greatest dynasties in NBA history” according to ​Food and Wine​. The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are all set to have their logos embossed across the classic chocolate cream cookie sandwich.

The “NBA Dynasty Oreos” are set to hit store shelves nationwide on March 29th. The release will be the first product launch between Mondelez International and the NBA since the snack giant came to an agreement for a multiyear partnership with the basketball association earlier this month. It is likely the company will release more NBA branded products across some of their other brands like Ritz Crackers and Nutter Butter in the near future.

The Oreo brand has seen other interesting collaborations as of late. Most notable was their release of “Lady Gaga Oreos”. ​Read our story on that here.
