New Orleans native Tyrann Mathieu enters his eighth season in the NFL with a completely new mindset.
Despite winning the Kansas City Chief’s team MVP and a Super Bowl title last season, Tyrann Mathieu describes to GQ’s Clay Skipper how he maintains his peace entering into a new season.
“I’m still motivated and fueled, I can remember when I got kicked out of school and people in my family started taking down the Honey Badger photos. I remember my sister called me. She was like “Yo, you might as well get a regular job. I still feel like those things are still motivating me,” says Mathieu.
Mathieu continues describing a time when he fell out of love with football, what it’s like to be a leader on the Chiefs team and how he incorporates yoga and meditation into his daily lifestyle.
