The last time college football fans got a new NCAA football video game, it was 2013. Finally, the wait is over with EA sports announcing Wednesday they would revive the fan-favorite game. While a timeline for the game’s release has yet to be made public, gamers are ecstatic for the new installment in the classic college football franchise.
While college athletes can now receive financial benefit from their likeness, the new video game will still not feature the names and characters of college athletes. Gamers will once again play as their favorite college teams without their favorite college athletes. Ultimately, specific players may appear in game but it is rumored this will have to be done without the branding of the NCAA.
The stadiums, uniforms and logos of over 100 colleges and universities will be featured in the upcoming game. As many fans are unable to attend games in person, this game would bring much needed relief. Unfortunately, executives at EA have said they hope to bring the game to market within the next couple of years.
In the meantime, college football fans can settle on watching basketball from home. With the NBA season in full swing, there’s no better time to read up on the latest within the league. Read what we expected from this season here.
